Furthering the art of music
NFMTA is a nonprofit organization of 80 independent music teachers who are committed to furthering the art of music through programs that encourage and support teaching and performance.
NFMTA, affiliated with the Georgia Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association, has existed to support music teaching and the art of music since 1998.
Most NFMTA members for are independent music teachers with private studios. The group meets monthly for informative educational programs and social events. NFMTA sponsors scholarships, competitions, music festivals, and the annual “Celebrate with Music” event to be held at the North Point Mall this year in December. The mission of NFMTA is the same as Music Teachers National Association: to advance the value of music study and music making in society and to support the professionalism of music teachers.
